Rising star Diallo signs new Man Utd contract

Amad Diallo has committed his future to Manchester United, signing a new contract that extends his stay at Old Trafford until 2030.

The Ivory Coast winger has expressed his ambition to make “history” with the club, signaling his determination to leave a lasting legacy.

Since Ruben Amorim took charge as United manager in November, Diallo has showcased his potential, scoring three goals in his last six matches.

The 22-year-old, who joined United from Atalanta in 2021, has made 50 appearances and scored nine goals for the club.

Previously, loan spells at Rangers and Sunderland had cast doubts over his future at United, but Diallo has emerged as one of the club’s most promising talents. Reflecting on his journey, he shared his excitement for what lies ahead:

“I’m really proud to have signed this new contract. I’ve experienced incredible moments here already, but there is so much more to achieve. I have huge ambitions and want to make history at Manchester United,” Diallo said.

“I’ve learned a lot since arriving four years ago, and I’m grateful to the coaches, staff, and fans for their support. It’s been a challenging season for everyone, but I believe we’re on the right path to a bright future. I’m ready to give my all to make our supporters proud again.”

Diallo’s contributions have been pivotal, including a stoppage-time winner against Manchester City in December and a crucial equalizer in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool. Last season, his late FA Cup winner against Liverpool cemented his place in the hearts of United fans.

United’s technical director, Jason Wilcox, praised Diallo’s development and potential:
“Amad’s quality on the ball, versatility, and determination make him a key part of Manchester United’s future. His best years are ahead of him, and we are excited to help him achieve his immense potential and bring success to the club.”

Despite Diallo’s bright performances, United currently sit in 13th place in the Premier League with only six wins from 20 matches. Amorim’s team will look to build momentum as they face Arsenal in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.
