Manchester United have reportedly reduced their asking price for Alejandro Garnacho, sparking increased interest from top clubs.
The Argentine winger has drawn attention from his former club Atletico Madrid, Serie A giants Napoli, and Premier League rivals Chelsea. Speculation heightened after Garnacho’s agent was spotted at Stamford Bridge during Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Wolves on Monday night.
Initially, the Red Devils were rumored to value Garnacho at £75 million, but according to Sky Italia, that figure has now dropped by nearly a third to £55 million.
Napoli, actively searching for a winger to fill the void left by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, will likely welcome the news of United’s revised valuation. Reports indicate Napoli had already submitted a £40 million bid, which was rejected, but the reduced price could reignite their pursuit.
The Italian club’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has expressed interest in Garnacho, acknowledging his significance to Napoli’s plans. In a recent statement, Manna said:
“We are making some assessments. He is an important player, but he is not ours. We must not get carried away, even if we know that an important player has left. A top player, as the manager defined him, and therefore the expectations are high. But we will do something on Napoli’s terms.”
Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and Napoli are all monitoring Garnacho’s situation closely as the transfer window edges closer to its February 3 deadline.
Meanwhile, Garnacho and his Manchester United teammates are preparing to host Scottish champions Rangers at Old Trafford on Thursday in their penultimate Europa League group-stage match.
